On the 15 -21 November 2021the Intra-African Trade Fair 2021 was held in Durban, Kwazulu-Natal. The Fair was attended by 1,100 exhibitors, as well as by more than 12,000 guests from 95 countries.With the support of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Africa, ANO Mosprom and the Association of Economic Cooperation with African States (AECAS), a collective booth of Moscow exhibitors and the Ural Automobile Plant was organized.
The event was attended by 10 Russian companies representing different industrial areas including medical equipment production, aviation equipment production, food stuff and HORECA equipment production, solar energy generation, ICT security, and the automotive industry. The Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Africa provided support for business communications between Russian exhibitors and South African visitors to the booth. As a result of the exhibition, Moscow booth was named the best and was awarded a corresponding award by the organizers of the Fair.
With the assistance of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Africa, the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Province of KwaZulu Natal Hon. S.Zikalala and Executive Director of AECAS A.V.Beliayeva was held, a presentation of Russian companies for the Deputy Director General of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition of South Africa Y. Hoosen was organized, Russian delegation wasintroduced to the colleagues from Francophone Africa at a special eventkindlyestablished byTrade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal, President of the South African United Business Confederation G.Sebulela visited the Russian booth with a substantive presentation on the emerging issues Russian companies face at the South African market.
The Russian delegation was warmly welcomed by South African colleagues and aroused great interest from the side ofrepresentatives of the whole African continent. Participants of bilateral Russia-Africa meetings underlined the importance of strengthening Russian economic agenda in Africa as well as expressed their hope for continuation of a business contacts.
