Russian Trade Representative in South Africa Maxim Bureev took part in the «Free-State Market Access» business forum, which took place on September 21-22 in Bloemfontein, Free State province.
The event was attended by representatives of the Embassies of the Republic of Belarus, the USA, Kenya, Mozambique, Congo, Morocco, Indonesia, Qatar, Poland, Turkey, as well as representatives of local business and provincial and municipal local business bodies. A special place was occupied by the exposition of small and medium-sized enterprises, the development of which is of great importance in South Africa.
The business program, in which M. Bureev took part, included a business exhibition, a conversation with the leadership of the municipality of the provincial centre, a presentation session, during which the Trade Representative of Russia presented the export opportunities of the Russian Federation as applied to the structure of the economy of the Free State province. M. Bureev noted that the province's orientation towards the development of agricultural production and the development of the agro-industrial complex creates favourable opportunities for the implementation of cooperative projects for the assembly of agricultural machinery in South Africa based on Russian components, packaging of single and multicomponent fertilizers, the use of Russian equipment for storage and grain processing. «It is important for the South African economy that such projects contribute to the creation of new jobs and the improvement of the qualifications of workers in the agricultural sector», said
